Wd red plus 8tb nas hard disk drive
But in my country they are expensive than the 7200rpm because they are hard to find.
Wd red plus 8tb nas hard disk drive plus#
I was thinking of getting WD red plus hdds that 5400rpm. I will put my DS418 at the living room, so the noise is important for me. I have many (+10) internal and external hdds lying around so I can start using them for beginning but I will buy some WD Red Plus(I was gonna buy 2 with 220j but now I can only get 1 and get the other 3 in the next year).
I really liked DS220+ but its out of my budget, so I kinda excepted non expandable 2gb ram of DS418. I was going to buy a DS220j (I only afford that much) but low ram and 2x space was a deal breaker so I went with a DS418 instead, cutting from hdds for now. My computer is generally on for days because of torrent stuff. I also had a Nvidia Shield, which is extended with a external 500gb SSD, plex serving an external 6gb of data which I wanted to put into the nas also. We have 3 tv, 3 computers, 2 tablets and phones at the house that will access these stuff. I wanted to put all these in the remaining 2 hdd. I have like 4 hdds of stuff lying around. I also need a storage space for our massive tv series & films. I already have a backup hdd copy of the files but I was thinking I can make 1 hdd for the images I work and 1 for its backup. I'm an amateur photographer and I want to dedicate 2 of the 4 bays of the NAS for this usage. I have some questions about NAS system not particular about Synology, I hope its ok to ask here. I really wanted a NAS unit for years, but the cost and complexity of NAS systems were the reason I waited so long.
I'm new here and I bought a Synology DS418 for our home use.
